Learns Alphabet After Davis OrientationTable of Contents | Davis Dyslexia Correction Methods | Experiences With Davis Methods
My grandson, Ty, is 9 years old. He is having so much trouble in school with his reading. His mom & dad are working with the school but the school counsellor wants to put him in special ed. His parents refuse because his ego is so low already and the only problem he has is reading (which naturally affects everything).
After reading The Gift of Dyslexia, I did the Davis orientation with him, even though the procedure did not make any sense to me. He followed perfectly and understood and saw his points and everything. He could not understand why I could not do it.
He had not been able to recite his ABCs. After getting on point and working with them for an hour, he recited them perfectly. He called me tonight and said them to me again.
We are going to work on symbol mastery tomorrow. He is excited, because he feels there is hope for him to learn to read.
My advise to all dyslexic parents is to get this book. I was skeptical at first, but am sold on the program now.
